A big thank you to Amy of Blighty Boutique for this award-my first one!!

So now I need to:
1.Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
2.Share 7 things about yourself
3.Award 15 bloggers
4.Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award.

Ok so seven things about me-

1. Before I worked in education I used to be a window dresser and have been very lucky to have had some great jobs.I still love nothing better than going to London to see the fantastic store displays, occasssionally I get the odd 'pang' when I miss the retail environment, but I am happy in my work and love the holidays!

2.I love dragonflies-amazing how they start off life in the water to emerge into the beautiful creatures that they are. I've used them as inspiration in artwork, I'm sure a lot of artists and crafts people have, so much you can take from them, colour, texture, pattern.

3.About nine years ago I took an evening class for two years to study for 'A' Level Textile design, one of the most interesting enjoyable things I've done, just wish I had the time/energy to do something similar now.Perhaps when I retire, only15 years to go !

4.I used to have a goose called Petula, she was mad and bad but lots of fun.
5.My favourite flowers are peonies, pinker and blousier the better.

6.I have a fear of heights. I do try to face my fear, so I don't miss out on things especially when we are on holiday, but we always ended looking back saying 'Do you remember that holiday when you were screaming up the such and such' no, I get no sympathy!

7.Later on this year I am going to turn fifty. When did that happen? I'm not bothered or upset at being fifty, I just want to know where the time has gone? Inside I still feel thirty something.I wonder when do you actually feel your age?

So I am now passing this award onto:

I signed up for the challenge from Annie of  thefeltfairy to make something new every month, what a great incentive, and I have actually finished something to boot!
I took inspiration from an old sixties cow and gate baby book. It was a book Mum had when she had me. I have to say it is written in quite a superior tone and some of the advice seems alien in these times - like feeding babies hard baked crusts with dripping ! Still it is full of wonderful pictures of very bonny babies.

So I picked one of my favourites and made some small lavender cushions...

I kept the colours neutral so they could be a present for someone that has had a boy or girl.

Did pick up this pretty bowl for my daughter last week, thought it would nice filled with some of her beads- she isn't too sure!

A friend gave me this sweet little tin-knows my love of Ladybird

Filled with  plasters, I'd love to take them to school but know the children would be falling over just to get one and there probably not health and safety approved!

I also bought these flower cards for just a £1, they are not in perfect condition, but I think they would be good for making tags and other crafty things.

Enjoy what is left of the weekend Linda xx

Happy New Year! to everyone, and hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Been catching up on some blog reading and seen some lovely Christmas pics.  Our Christmas did not go entirely to plan- well lifes just not to meant to is it.  In the end it was safer not to move Mum what with all the ice around and Mum- in -law was worried about us doing a lot of travelling, so we all spent Christmas Day in my mums little flat-with food mountain in tow.  It was quite a feat of preparation, but we ended up having a lovely dinner and the conclusion that it really doesn't matter where we cook and eat Christmas dinner as long as we are all together.

I have a few more days left at home but I think the fact that work is looming has spurred me on to start creating new vintage inspired gifts.

I started to make some altered bottles the other day , I managed to complete only three when I realised that I gave a bag of bottles to a charity shop months ago! I'd hoarded them for years as well,  oh well, you can find them at boot sales very cheaply now.

I was so pleased with myself as well for actually using up bits and pieces that I've kept stashed away, even the rusty chain I bought from etsy without a clue as to what I was going to use it for.

Something else I've got around to finishing has been some doily bunting.....

And lastly a lovely little bit of 'new treasure' which will be for sale later this year ....

Wishing you all good health and happiness for the year ahead
Linda xx
