The 'Treasure' that I found at the weekend really does span the eras'.
A cute little Holly Hobbie piece- so seventies.
How's that for vibrant colour?!

It was really the labels on this tin that caught my eye, I realised why when I went to visit my dear mum later in the day, she has the same labels on her storage containers, that she still has from the seventies.

A pretty little crinoline lady pot, I know I've got a spoon somewhere that will go with it.
The back of this picture is in a bad way, and needs a lot of attention, but it's definitely my favourite find of late.

Friday 11 June 2010

I am very glad it's Friday even though I've had a brilliant day at work it has been exhausting. We've had an out of Africa themed week so we have all been dancing, drumming amongst other things and today cooking - I am definitely not washing up for the next few days! The children I work with are amazing and it is times like this that are some of the most rewarding , seeing them have new experiences and simply enjoy themselves. So I have decided to post some pics of some of my artwork , for a relaxing view especially for anyone that's got that 'Friday feeling'.

Monday 7 June 2010

The weather looked a bit unpredictable yesterday, but decided to go to a boot sale anyway and ended up going to two!
Found this sixties suitcase that's in good condition and is already in place on top of my wardrobe waiting to be filled, probably with fabric. We seem to have a fabric problem at home , it's everywhere, under beds, in baskets, even in the cellar!
A little sewing basket and wooden reels.
I took a chance and bought a jumbled box of china, a good wash and these black cups should look nice and sparkly.
And lastly some Meakin cups and saucers, the citrus design makes them a bit different from the usual florals.

I found these Vernon Ward placemats last week,I,m not usually a big fan of bird paintings, but I love the gold edging and the mat colour, sets the pictures off very well.

Lately I've been buying things that have brought back memories of being a child/teenager in the seventies. I found more Babycham glasses today, which I never tire of,plus they make really good presents.
Another Quality Street tin, I just think they're pretty,I used to keep stamps and odds and ends in them as a child.
And a Holly Hobbie plate, nice sentiment.
