I did say on my last post that I would share some pics of new 'vintage treasure', so here they are...

A set of Ainsley bowls, I love the depth of colour

Plates all bought at different times but all green and pink, a classic combination I think

A pretty trio of jugs, again all bought at different times, do you ever find that, you start buying something and then lots appear?

This fawn picture is tiny but so sweet
I can't remember Boots having a picture framing department?
Have a lovely weekend Linda xx.

Monday 14 February 2011

On Saturday we went to the first creative craft and vintage fair in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. After worrying that we didn't have enough stock for this being our first fair of the year, we set the stall up and still had an overflowing box under the table, I forget about half the things we buy over the year .
It was nice to meet up with people that I have met at previous fairs, Vicki from Ticklepenny Vintage had a stall accompianied by her daughter Rebecca who was wearing a fab dress. I bought this pretty print off her first thing for my eldest daughter Ruby...
My daughters loved this stall, 'Gothabillys' , it was full of bright bandanas and hair accessories. I bought my youngest this gorgeous bandana, which goes so well with her dark hair.
It was also lovely to meet Debbie from Dreaming of the simple life great to put a face to the blog! And it looks as though a lot of us will be meeting up at the Northampton Vintage fair which is on March 19th
Hope you have all had a Happy Valentines Day

Sunday 6 February 2011

We have been busy sorting and getting stock ready for our first fair of the year next Saturday at Flitwick village hall, it is billed as a:-

Creative craft and Vintage Fair  And will be on from 11- 4 pm
We have been lovingly washing plates, sundae dishes and other treasure before wrapping and packing ready for the big day...
Admittedly at the moment it all seems a lot of work, as I'm trying to make some handmade goodies as well, interspersed with work, teenagers and helping Mum out. Actually the vintage and handmade bit isn't the problem it's the housework and all the maintenance that needs doing in our treasured but old crumbly house!

Apart from regular trips to a hospital clinic, Mum hasn't been out for ages, so we insisted on taking her out today, she worries that she is too much of a nuisance to take out, that ,she will never be to me. We went over to Brackley Antiques cellar. Mum has always had an interest in antiques  and used to help out occasionally in her friends shop  years ago when I was a child. I was left to rummage around the shop and my favourite part was the musty cellar full of junk, so it all started at a young age !
We were really surprised at how big the Antiques cellar was. Ann of Vintage at the corner house and Debbie of Home thoughts from vintage wants have a booth there and it is gorgeous! Well worth a visit.

I recently bought this vintage push along dog, he needs a good' bath' and will hopefully be coming along to the fair with us- we've named him Reg!
Enjoy your week Linda xx

Wednesday 2 February 2011

Our sale at Northamptons Bicycle Bazaar went well at the weekend, though it was only half full with sellers and bitterly cold.

I am so pleased with the orange vase I bought from Amy of Blighty Boutique, it is sitting happily on the mantle piece filled with flowers from the bazaar . It was lovely to meet Amy and her mum Annie from The Felt Fairy who is hosting the monthly make challenge. The world of blogging has introduced me to some lovely people with similar interests, now I'm actually meeting some of them !

Ann from Vintage at the Cornerhouse and Trevor were also visiting, they are organising The Northampton Vintage Fair. There will be four Northampton fairs this year-as shown in my sidebar. It's a great  fair - busy and very friendly, so come along if you can. We will definitely be at the first one which is 19th March .

TabbyRoos next fair will be on Saturday 12th of February at Flitwick village Hall, we haven't been to any sort of fair there before , but it sounds good.....
Creative craft and Vintage Fayre, 11-4pm, free admission

So the 'captured' fairies will be there, lavender pillows ...

...and of course plenty of vintage treasure .Linda xx
