On our way back from our holiday we decided to drive through the Peak District to the pretty village of Bakewell, home to the famous pudding.

It is very picturesque with it's fudge coloured buildings and absolutely heaving with tourists.

Gazing longingly into of one the many many bakeries there!

Our next stop was to Chatsworth House, I've been wanting to visit for a long time and was not disappointed.

The house and contents are beautiful, there are so many treasures you could really do with two trips round to absorb everything.

It underwent renovations a few years ago , so with the help of the teasels the furnishings are immaculate.

The extensive grounds are full of old and contemporary sculpture.

How I would love to spend just one night in this house surrounded by splendour, waking up to incredible views.........

  1. I love home made Bakewell tart especially when it's still warm. Chatsworth looks stunning, definitely somewhere I would like to visit.
